Advanced Robotics With GoPiGo 3
13

Description

Course Overview

The “Advanced Robotics With GoPiGo” track provides access to various tutorials where you will interact with the GoPiGo using block based programming language. In these tutorials you will work with your child to explore advanced robotics concepts using the GoPiGo robotics platform. You will build on the coding skills and fundamentals of electronics you have gained through the development tracks completed earlier. We would highly recommend that at minimum you complete the development tracks listed above.

As you progress through the tutorials in this track you will learn how to assemble the robot, light up the robot, make the robot play music, control the robot remotely using a remote control, design a line following robot, design an obstacle avoidance robot and much more. This is an advanced development track focused on electronics, coding and robotics. We would highly recommend that you complete the following tracks before you start off with this track.

  1. Introduction to coding concepts with Scratch – I
  2. Introduction to coding concepts with Scratch – II
  3. Exploring Coding Concepts Using the BBC micro:bit – I
  4. Exploring Coding Concepts Using the BBC micro:bit – II
  5. Introduction to Electronics Using the BBC micro:bit – I
  6. Introduction to Robotics Using the Makeblock mBot
  7. Introduction to Robotics Using the Makeblock Ranger

GoPiGo Raspberry Pi Robot that turns a Raspberry Pi computer into a Robot. The GoPiGo is a complete robot package for the Raspberry Pi. It comes with everything one might need to get their Raspberry Pi rolling, including a robot body, motors, controls, and a robust power supply. With so many programming languages and USB accessories available for the Pi, one can turn your GoPiGo into anything from a WiFi controlled robot for exploring the scary spaces behind the couch to an autonomous rocket launching office enforcer. With the Raspberry Pi acting as the brains of the robot, the possibilities are truly infinite.

Prerequisites

This development track is based on the GoPiGo 3. If you haven’t purchased a GoPiGo 3 yet please head over to OzToyLib and purchase one now.  The recommended Bill Of Material for this courses includes –

  1. GoPiGo Robot –
    1. GoPiGo Robot Advanced Starter Kit   Or
    2. GoPiGo Robot Beginners Starter Kit
  2. GoPiGo Line Sensor
  3. GoPiGo Servo Package

Depending on where you live you might also be able to pick up a GoPiGo 3 at your local electronics hobby store.
