Course Overview
The “Introduction To Robotics Using Makeblock Codey Rockey” track provides access to all of tutorials provided by Makeblock. In these tutorials you will work with your child to explore the fundamentals of robotics using the Makeblock Codey Rockey platform. You will build on the coding skills and basic electronics skills you have gained through the development tracks you would have completed. We would highly recommend that at minimum you complete the development tracks listed above. As you progress through the tutorials in this track you will learn how to light up the robot, make the robot play music, control the robot remotely using a remote control, design a line following robot, design an obstacle avoidance robot and much more.
We would highly recommend that you complete the following tracks before you start off with this track.
- Introduction to coding concepts with Scratch – I
- Introduction to coding concepts with Scratch – II
- Exploring Coding Concepts Using the BBC micro:bit – I
- Exploring Coding Concepts Using the BBC micro:bit – II
With more than 10 programmable electronic modules including sensors, infrared receptor, LED display, sensors, and more, Codey Rocky can be programmed to function in a wide range of fun ways. Makeblock Codey Rocky can be programmed to design games that improve children’s analytical skills, logical thinking, reasoning and problem solving skills. You can use Codey Rocky to interact with Internet of Things, detect the soil humidity, control home appliances, get weather reports, and do much…much more!!! Programming Makeblock Codey Rocky is done using mBlock 5 which is based on Scratch 3.0. Makeblock’s mBlock 5 programming software is based on MIT’s visual programming language Scratch 3.0 to guarantee that beginners can get started coding within minutes. All you need to do is drag and drop to build your programs using mBlock 5. With just one click you can turn your visual code into Python code and continue learning an advanced and practical language. Makeblock Codey Rocky is positioned at kids in the 5-7 years age range.
